November Theme: Seeds of Kindness
Perfect theme for the month of November as we approach the Holidays! Their character can be strengthened by service and the biggest Service Project that the Scouts participate in annually is Scouting for Food (pickup on Nov 15th). Collective efforts made by Cub Scouts and older Boy Scouts collect food that fill our local food pantries for up to three months! AMAZING! Other service can be participating in the Councils Vetran's Day Flag Collection & Retirement from Nov 3 - 11th.
Webelos Activity Badges:
Craftsman & Readyman
Readyman idea: practice first aid with some fake blood that could be easily purchased on mark down sections of the store! What Scout would not like that activity!?!
Song: Helful & Kind found in the Roundtable handouts
Cheer: It's a Snap! found in the Roundtable handouts
Skit: Legend of the Five Kernels found in the Roundtable handouts
Highlight: BSA Family Program
Spread seeds of kindness, love & service and may you teach the Cub Scouts to let that same spirit linger all year long! There is oh, so much that can be found for ideas in our handouts from October Roundtable! Check with me if you did not get one. I have extra!

Need some craft ideas???
Chia Pet was fun.
Supplies:
knee high stocking, 1/8/ cup grass seed, 1 1/2 cups of vermiculite, three small (nickel-sized) rubberbands, two wiggly eyes, low heat glue with gun & 1 plastic cup.
Put toe of stocking in bottom of cup and stretch stocking up and over outside of cup.
Place grass seed in toe of stocking. Start with 1 cup of vermiculite and pack in, add remainder vermiculite. Pull stocking up from outside of cup, work the vermiculite into a ball shape. Pull stocking taut to make knot (it becomes the bottom of head). Pull some of the contents to the each side securing with rubber band to make the ears one on the front for a nose. Glue two eyes on to complete. Saturate the ball with water, wait 1-3 days for seed germination to sprout.
Glass Jar Seed Display
Using several different types and color of seeds, layer the seeds of same kind in rows until jar is filled. Cut a fabric square and secure with raffia. Quote to attach: Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant. Robert Louis Stevenson.
Cone Display of Seeds
This is great to help give direction to Cubs if they complete what you are working on as a group. Have them use a low temp glue gun to create a pattern of a few rows. Once they have it completed, you can display at the Pack Meeting. Give each Den one to complete and have their own display at Pack Meeting.
Seed Picture Mosiac
There are many Thanksgiving Coloring pages found on the web that can be used to create the seed mosiac. Could be done as a family at Pack Meeting or worked on in Dens to display at Pack Meeting.
Toothpick Holder
Supplies: Small clay pot (craft section), feathers, pipe cleaners Red & brown, Beak can use a seed, wiggly eyes, low temp glue gun, and toothpicks.
